• Trinitroglycerin is a drug keep under tongue in patients with angina
• It release NO when it dissolve
• NO is fat soluble and defuse through cell membrane
• It activate adenylyl cyclase
• Increase cGMP level
• cGMP activate protein kinases
• These protein kinases phosphorylate the myosin light chain kinase and activate it
• This reduces smooth muscle contraction of vascular wall
• So blood vessels dilate and blood supply to heart muscle is reestablished
• Angina occur due to reduction of blood supply to heart muscle and it is relive by this drug
